LG Display Holds 1st ESG Committee Meeting... Lee Chang-yang Appointed Chairman Professor Lee Chang-yang of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), appointed as the Chair of the LG Display ESG Committee

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Display announced on the 27th that it held the first meeting of the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Committee established last April and appointed Professor Lee Chang-yang of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) College of Business as the chairman.

At the first LG Display ESG Committee meeting held the previous day, the agenda included the appointment of the chairman, reports on ESG management performance such as purchasing renewable energy through the Green Premium System and issuing green bonds, and discussions on plans to promote ESG management.

Professor Lee, who serves as the inaugural chairman, has actively participated in board-centered responsible management since 2019 as an outside director of LG Display.

The committee established ESG management directions based on customer value innovation for new growth and management respecting human dignity. To this end, it set nine core areas including climate response, resource circulation, workplace safety, and human rights management, and planned to actively pursue various tasks in each area.

LG Display stated, "We will accelerate ESG management to fulfill our responsibilities as a global citizen company and strive to become a company that grows together with society."
