[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] It has been revealed that a woman who suddenly assaulted a man in his 40s on a walking path of an apartment in Seongdong-gu, Seoul last July shouted and hurled insults at the police during her arrest. After the incident, the perpetrator's side sent a 'text apology' along with a large settlement amount, but the victim expressed his distress, saying, "They are acting only according to their own will without sincerity."

On the 25th, a video titled "A woman in her 20s who violently beat a man in his 40s, original audio released during police arrest" was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Molkkatube'.

The video shows the perpetrator, Ms. A, scolding the victim, Mr. B, in front of the police at the time of the assault incident last July. Ms. A says in an agitated voice, "I'm really struggling. That XX is doing XX to me."

When Mr. B asks, "Did I molest you?" Ms. A responds with a string of curses, saying, "You molested me, XX." The police intervene, saying, "Why are you hitting someone?" and "What are you doing in front of the police right now?"

However, Ms. A continues to shout and rushes at Mr. B, and the police eventually arrest her on the spot. Even during the arrest, Ms. A shouts at the police trying to handcuff her, "I don't care if you handcuff me, XX." When asked if she had been drinking, she protests, "I haven't drunk any alcohol."

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on July 30th on a walking path of an apartment in Seongdong-gu. At the time, Ms. A appeared in front of Mr. B's family and suddenly offered a beer can, which was refused, then abruptly slapped Mr. B's son.

When Mr. B tried to stop Ms. A from fleeing, she began to assault Mr. B's body with a cellphone, fists, and knees while cursing. It is reported that Mr. B did not resist much, fearing being falsely accused as a sexual crime perpetrator while defending or restraining her.

After the incident, Mr. B's side demanded a sincere apology and a handwritten letter of reflection from Ms. A as conditions for settlement. However, even after a month, Mr. B's family did not receive an apology from Ms. A, and about two months later, they were offered a settlement amount of 30 million won along with an apology text.

Mr. B posted on an online community, saying, "I repeatedly said that this is not about money, but I am frustrated and saddened by their insincere attitude, doing only what they want." He added, "If the roles were reversed and the perpetrator and their family experienced such a thing, I want to ask if they would readily agree to a settlement consisting only of a perfunctory text apology without showing their faces."

He emphasized, "I don't need money. They can earn it themselves, and if not, they can just not spend it. Please don't slander people in such a petty way."
