Approval of Amendment to Jeungsan 2 District Redevelopment Promotion Plan (Draft)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] A complex cultural and sports center will be built in the Jeungsan-dong area of Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul.
Seoul City announced on the 26th that it held the Urban Redevelopment Committee meeting the day before and approved the original plan for the revision of the Susaek-Jeungsan Redevelopment Promotion Plan.
Accordingly, in the Jeungsan 2 Redevelopment Promotion Zone at 216-10 Jeungsan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, the approximately 4,600㎡ children's park, which the project implementer is scheduled to donate, will be changed to a cultural park, and the Jeungsan Complex Cultural and Sports Center will be constructed by the end of 2024.
The center will be built with one basement floor and four above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 2,000㎡, and will include a living culture center, a national sports center, and a Dahamkke Care Center. Additionally, the park created on the west side of Jeungsan Elementary School will feature a natural energy playground and ground fountains to be used as a leisure space.
The Jeungsan Complex Cultural and Sports Center will be located along Jeungsanseo-gil and has been selected for the government's Living SOC Complex Project, with a project cost of about 20 billion KRW, including 4.5 billion KRW in national funding.
Kim Seong-bo, Director of the Seoul City Housing Policy Office, said, "As part of the redevelopment promotion project, while expanding housing supply, we expect to contribute to improving residents' convenience and quality of life by efficiently utilizing public facility sites secured through donations and creating cultural and sports facilities lacking in the Susaek-Jeungsan living area."
