[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A man in his 50s who released a fierce dog in an alley, causing injuries to residents, was caught on the spot and is facing charges for violating the Animal Protection Act.
An emergency response involving five patrol cars and the 119 rescue team was launched to subdue the fierce dog.
According to the Busan Police Agency on the 24th, at around 1:54 PM that day, a fierce dog without a leash that bit and injured two residents in an alley in Beomcheon-dong, Busanjin-gu, was captured.
Earlier, the police received a 112 report about a large dog being released and causing disturbances and responded to the scene.
The police, in cooperation with the 119 rescue team, used a taser gun and a catch pole to capture the fierce dog, and it was confirmed that two residents, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s, had already been bitten.
The residents bitten by the dog protested to the owner, Mr. A, but he reportedly recklessly released the dog.
The captured fierce dog is estimated to be a mixed breed similar to a Pit Bull Terrier.
The police plan to notify the local district office about the captured dog for further action.
