[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] The latest update on the woman from Mali who gave birth to nine babies, the world's first nonuplets, has been revealed, drawing attention.

On the 23rd (local time), the British Daily Mail reported that Halima Ciss? (26), a Malian national who gave birth to nine babies via cesarean section in Morocco last May, is currently in good health.

Initially, Ciss? was diagnosed at a local hospital as expecting septuplets, but on the actual day of delivery, she gave birth to nine babies. The newborns weighed between 0.5 and 1 kg each.

Immediately after birth, all the babies stayed in incubators in the intensive care unit, requiring 24-hour care from doctors and nurses.

However, about five months later, the situation has completely changed. All nine babies have been gaining weight rapidly, and medical staff have determined that they will soon be able to return to their home country, Mali.

Ciss? and her husband Kader Arby (35) also shared a family photo taken with the nine babies.

Ciss? said, "Until now, the babies were too weak for all nine to be photographed together, but their weight has increased rapidly, and this is the first time the entire family has taken a photo."

The nine babies, consisting of five girls and four boys, are currently staying in Morocco. At the time of birth, it was determined that there was no hospital in Mali equipped to care for such a unique case of nine babies, so with the help of the Malian government, they were transferred to a clinic in Morocco.

The nine babies are eagerly awaiting the day they can return to their homeland Mali under the protection of the state and with government assistance. The Malian Minister of Health visited the hospital last week to meet the rapidly growing nine babies in person and later shared the joyful news that a way has been found for the nine babies and their parents to travel together to Bamako, the capital of Mali.

Husband Arby said, "Supporting the family while working as a sailor is financially difficult. There are many worries, but my wife and I mostly think positively," adding, "There are many warm comments from supporters online, and we have received numerous messages of support from sponsors around the world."

Meanwhile, Ciss?'s birth of nine babies has been recorded as the highest number of births in history. Previously, the world record for the most babies born was held by Nadya Suleman (46) in California, USA, who gave birth to octuplets in 2009.
