Over 30 Vice Chairmen and Business Leaders from Both Countries Attend... Discussing Economic Cooperation Measures

KCCI Hosts 'Korea-Qatar Business Roundtable'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) announced that it jointly held the 'Korea-Qatar Business Roundtable' with the Qatar Chamber of Commerce on the 24th at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Doha, Qatar.


At the event, 10 Korean businesspeople attended, including Woo Tae-hee, Executive Vice Chairman of KCCI, Moon Jae-do, Chairman of H2Korea, as well as representatives from Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Samsung Heavy Industries, Hyundai Construction, Samsung C&T, Bioneer, and Celltrion. On the Qatar side, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, Senior Vice Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, and about 10 Qatari businesspeople participated.


In his greeting, Woo Tae-hee, Executive Vice Chairman of KCCI, stated, "Economic cooperation between Korea and Qatar is expanding from traditional industries such as construction and plants to healthcare and hydrogen energy," adding, "Taking this event as an opportunity, companies from both countries plan to explore mutual cooperation in more diverse fields."


Meanwhile, following the Korea-Qatar Business Roundtable, an official luncheon hosted by Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad Al Abdullah Al Thani, the newly appointed Minister of Commerce and Industry of Qatar, was attended by Moon Seung-wook, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea, Woo Tae-hee, Executive Vice Chairman of KCCI, Khalifa bin Mohamed Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, and businesspeople from both countries, providing an opportunity to strengthen mutual friendly relations.
