[Asia Economy Reporter Seoyoung Kwon] In Namwon, Jeonbuk, an adult male was collectively assaulted by high school students, and it has been revealed that this incident was a 'retaliatory assault' by the students.

On the 23rd, YTN reported that on July 26th, A, a full-time reservist, was assaulted by twin high school students at an elementary school playground in Namwon, Jeonbuk. At the time, A was surrounded and collectively assaulted by 6 to 7 students, and the video capturing this scene sparked significant controversy in the local community.

The first released video showed two high school students kicking the fallen A. It also included a voice saying, "You shouldn't have messed with the twins in the first place." In response, A told YTN, "There is also the reason that I took money from (the students) in the past, and there were rumors that I hit them," adding, "I was just jokingly hitting them back then, but the students are trying to cover this up by making such claims."

The students referred to as 'twins' in the video claimed that when they were in elementary school, A, who was then a high school senior, took 20,000 won from them and frequently bullied them, which made them angry and led to this incident. They also added that although the video appears to show one-sided violence, it was actually mutual fighting. The police have received a complaint and stated that they will identify those involved and investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
