On the 24th, Shin Bo-ra, chief spokesperson for Won Hee-ryong's presidential pre-campaign, stated in a commentary, "The reports that Dr. Kang Yoon-hyung, the spouse, received an oral warning from the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association are false and clearly fabricated." She added, "We understand that the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association has sent a protest letter regarding the article," and demanded, "The Youth Doctor (Cheongnyeon Uisa) must immediately apologize for spreading false information related to the article."
On the same day, former Governor Won posted on Facebook, "During the candidacies of former Presidents Park Geun-hye and Moon Jae-in, there were numerous analyses by psychiatrists and psychologists," and countered the Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung's side's objections by saying, "Did they all violate professional ethics as doctors? I do not think so."
He further claimed, "At that time, no one was sanctioned. Both former and incumbent presidents underwent the same verification process, but Lee Jae-myung is the first to complain about privacy."
Former Governor Won stated, "I believe this case falls under situations where it is clear that the candidate would cause serious harm to others," and argued, "If a president forcibly hospitalizes citizens in psychiatric hospitals for inappropriate reasons, it would pose a serious threat to public safety."
