[Asia Economy Reporter Sumi Hwang] A customer who swiftly subdued robbers pointing guns during a convenience store robbery in the United States has become a hot topic.

According to ABC News and others in the U.S. on the 22nd (local time), former Marine James Kilser (32) encountered the robbers while stopping by a convenience store in Yuma County, Arizona on the 20th.

According to the convenience store CCTV footage released by the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, late at night, masked robbers stormed into the store pointing guns. At that moment, Kilser, who was waiting to pay, grabbed and twisted one of the robber's arms with one hand.

The gun-wielding robber was thrown to the ground by Kilser's subduing. One of the group chasing after them saw this, panicked, and ran out of the store but fell down.

Kilser completely subdued the fallen robber and held him until the security team arrived at the scene.

According to local police, the robbers were teenagers and were immediately handed over to juvenile correction authorities on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Kilser said the reason he was able to calmly subdue the gun-wielding robbers was because "the Marines taught me not to hesitate."
