CJ Freshway to Create Big Data Platform for Food Ingredient Distribution

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] CJ Freshway announced on the 24th that it will accelerate digital transformation by building the industry's first big data platform.


CJ Freshway plans to database key information across all business sectors by next year and develop a platform that can analyze and utilize this data, thereby fully launching data-driven management. By leveraging data capabilities as a future growth engine, the company aims to proactively respond to the rapidly changing market and continuously discover new business opportunities, positioning itself as a digital leading company in the food ingredient distribution industry.


CJ Freshway's move toward digital transformation is intended to strengthen corporate competitiveness by actively utilizing data across all work areas such as product planning, sales, and logistics.


As a core strategy for digital transformation, CJ Freshway has set three main goals: ▲data assetization ▲establishment of a data-driven decision-making system ▲development of customer-tailored solutions.


Specifically, the data includes both internal information such as customers, products, and sales, and external information such as trends, commercial districts, and weather. Additionally, to improve work efficiency, only meaningful, high-quality data with strong business relevance will be assetized. During this process, data classification and reorganization will be carried out so that information previously managed by each department can be viewed at once on the big data platform, enabling quick understanding and decision-making from an enterprise-wide perspective.


For efficient data management, a company-wide data operation system will be established centered on the Digital Innovation department. By preparing related policies such as maintaining data quality and standardization management, trust in the data will be secured, and internal members will be supported to easily search and analyze the data they need during important decision-making.


CJ Freshway will also develop its own customer-tailored solutions. Customer types, which were previously categorized simply by restaurants, schools, hospitals, etc., will be classified according to preferred products and order patterns to enhance analysis capabilities by customer needs. Furthermore, external factors such as social trends and regional conditions will be considered together to improve the accuracy of the analysis.
