First Entry into Domestic Department Stores on the 2nd Floor of Apgujeong Main Store
Showcasing Over 1,000 Items Including Ceramics, Perfumes, and Stationery
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hyundai Department Store announced on the 24th that it will open the first-ever store of the French lifestyle brand 'Astier de Villatte' in a domestic department store on the 2nd floor of its Apgujeong Main Store.
'Astier de Villatte' is a brand started in 1996 in Paris, France by 'Beno?t Astier de Villatte' and 'Ivan Pericoli,' offering a variety of products including tableware made using traditional French methods, perfumes, lighting, and furniture. The Paris store is considered a must-visit spot for travelers to France and has a solid fan base in Korea.
The signature item is ceramic made by skilled artisans who handcraft pieces using milk-colored emaille (a type of enamel paint).
The Astier de Villatte store opening at the Apgujeong Main Store is the third store in the world’s department stores after Liberty Department Store in London, UK, and Isetan Department Store in Tokyo, Japan, featuring an interior close to that of the stores in France.
The store covers an area of 76㎡ (approximately 23 pyeong) and showcases over 1,000 products including ceramics, perfumes, and stationery. Prices range from 100,000 to 400,000 KRW for cups and plates, and 300,000 to 800,000 KRW for vases.
A Hyundai Department Store official said, "Customer demand for premium lifestyle products is increasing, which led to the opening of this Astier de Villatte store. We will continue to discover various premium brands popular overseas and strengthen our image as a platform that offers differentiated value to customers."
