How about illustrating 'Child Rights' in a drawing?

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will hold the 'Children's Rights Week Drawing Contest' from October 25 to November 10.

This contest was planned to nurture children's sensitivity and imagination through drawings expressing children's rights and to raise awareness of children's rights in the local community.

The contest theme is drawings depicting the 'Four Major Rights of Children,' and participants can choose one of the rights: 'Right to Survival,' 'Right to Protection,' 'Right to Development,' or 'Right to Participation' to submit their work.

Any child or adolescent aged 5 to 18 residing in Geumcheon-gu or attending school within Geumcheon-gu is eligible to participate.

The contest is divided into two categories: ▲Preschool and Elementary Division (ages 5 to under 13) ▲Middle and High School Division (ages 13 to 18). The drawing size is 8-cut drawing paper for the Preschool and Elementary Division and 4-cut drawing paper for the Middle and High School Division. The drawing format and materials can be freely chosen.

Applicants can download the application form and the consent form for the collection and use of personal information from the 'Notices and Announcements' section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website, attach them to the back of the artwork, and submit by mail or visit to the Child and Youth Division.

Each child may submit only one artwork, and the copyright of the winning works belongs to Geumcheon-gu.

Geumcheon-gu will select a total of 40 winners through judging: 2 Grand Prize winners, 6 Excellence Award winners, 12 Encouragement Award winners, and 20 Honorable Mentions.

The results will be announced on November 16 on the Geumcheon-gu Office website and winners will be notified individually. The winning works will be exhibited on the Geumcheon-gu Office website and in shared spaces within Geumcheon-gu.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, "I hope this contest will be an opportunity for residents to think about and take an interest in children's rights," and added, "We will continue to strive to create a 'Child-Friendly City Geumcheon' where children's rights are protected and children are happy."
