Support for Low-Income Children Insurance II for Single-Parent Family Childcare Benefit Recipient Households
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 23rd, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has started promoting the ‘Low-Income Child Insurance II’ supported by the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency to create a stable child-rearing environment and reduce the economic burden for low-income single-parent families.
The insurance support targets children under 17 years old and their guardians (legal guardians) among single-parent child-rearing support recipients, excluding those eligible for livelihood and medical benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act.
Eligible applicants are automatically enrolled without a separate application process, and the insurance premium is fully covered by the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency.
Coverage includes up to 30 million KRW for guardians in case of injury or disease-related disability, and for children, it covers 10 items such as hospitalization, fracture diagnosis fees, and cancer diagnosis fees. Overlapping coverage is possible even if insured under other policies.
Insurance claims can be made within three years after an injury or illness occurs via phone, fax, email, or KakaoTalk Plus Friend. On KakaoTalk, search for ‘Korea Inclusive Finance Agency Child Insurance Reception Center’.
A county official stated, “We will do our best to promote so that no eligible household misses out on benefits in case of illness or injury,” and added, “We will continue to expand support for the stability and independence of single-parent families.”
