"Made into a Speculation Ground in South Korea"
"Lee Jae-myung, Sociopathic Tendencies... Attractive If Not Deceived"
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] Kang Yoon-hyung, wife of Won Hee-ryong, a presidential candidate from the People Power Party and former governor of Jeju Province, criticized the Moon Jae-in administration's real estate policy, saying, "An apartment sold for around 800 million won has now reached 2.6 billion won."
Kang appeared on the 'Gwanpungnu' segment of the Maeil Newspaper YouTube channel on the 20th and said, "Our candidate (former Governor Won) does not engage in stock or real estate investment while in politics," adding, "(Still) we have some episodes related to real estate policy."
She continued, "Although we could have lived in the Jeju government residence, since it is operated with tax money, I thought it was unreasonable to use it just for the two of us," explaining, "So we permanently converted the residence into a children's library and lifelong education center."
Kang also said she sold a house in Mok-dong, Seoul, and bought a house in Jeju, stating, "Honestly, I didn't want to sell the Seoul house because I thought its value would increase more. I sold it for 830 million won (in July 2014), which was below market price, but six years later, the Mok-dong apartment became worth 2.6 billion won. Honestly, it hurts."
She criticized, "We at least have a house in Jeju, but think about the young people who don't have their own homes and want to buy one in the future?how much frustration this has caused them," adding, "(The real estate policy) kills the will to work. How can anyone earn that kind of money by working their whole life?"
She raised her voice, saying, "Even though the people say the policy was wrong, they stubbornly persisted and turned South Korea into a speculative market," and added, "I think that was truly wrong. I believe it was a very incompetent government for our future generations."

Kang, a psychiatrist who graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine, also targeted Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, saying, "Rather than Jekyll and Hyde or Janus, he shows sociopathic or antisocial tendencies," and claimed, "It is called antisocial personality disorder, but he himself is not troubled; it is those around him who suffer, so treatment is difficult."
She continued, "Looking at the verbal abuse scandal toward his older brother and sister-in-law, and the commotion with Kim Bu-seon, he shows no concern for others' pain or harm," and "From an outsider's perspective, he is rather attractive. From a position not directly affected, those aspects can seem appealing. Even if he is a con artist, he uses 95% truth and 5% lies to deceive. It is frightening."
Comparing former Governor Won and Governor Lee, she emphasized, "I understand both are the same age (born in 1964). Their childhood poverty is also similar. The stark difference is that our candidate grew up loved under warm and harmonious parents. That is important."
Meanwhile, the average apartment price in Seoul, which was 607.08 million won at the start of the Moon Jae-in administration, nearly doubled in four years and four months. According to KB Kookmin Bank's Live Real Estate monthly housing price statistics, the average apartment sale price in Seoul last September was 1.19978 billion won, just shy of breaking 1.2 billion won.
