Agency Responds to University Alumni's Expos? Post as "Groundless"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Actor Kim Seonho, who is suspected of coercing his ex-girlfriend to have an abortion under the pretense of marriage, has been accused of causing several incidents during his time at Seoul Institute of the Arts due to severe womanizing and a hot-tempered personality. In response, those claiming to be acquaintances of Kim Seonho have denied these allegations as false, and his agency also stated that the claims are "groundless."
Previously, a post titled "I am a university alumnus of actor K" was uploaded on the online community 'Nate Pann,' targeting Kim Seonho.
The author claimed, "The current wholesome and kind image of actor K is very different from the person I knew," and added, "He liked drinking and clubs since college, and his womanizing was very severe, just like now."
They continued, "Perhaps due to his strong pride, he had a very quick temper. When working on projects, if someone disagreed with him, he would glare at his colleagues and curse, even attempting to throw punches, which led me to intervene in fights more than once." The author also posted a graduation photo from Seoul Institute of the Arts, saying, "Some say this is false, so I am uploading the graduation album."
A netizen who posted an expos? about Kim Seon-ho claimed the photo was from a 'graduation album.' Photo by online community 'Nate Pann' screen capture.
In response, Mr. A, who claims to be an acquaintance of Kim Seonho, wrote on his Instagram on the 22nd, "The photo posted claiming to be a graduation album from the same school was confirmed to be a 2016 promotional pamphlet from Seoul Institute of the Arts, not a graduation album."
He dismissed the controversy, stating, "The content of a netizen claiming to be a university alumnus of Kim Seonho is completely unfounded." Mr. A had previously threatened to expose information as an acquaintance of Kim Seonho but suddenly canceled. The post has since been deleted.
Another netizen, Mr. B, also posted on Nate Pann titled "Kim Seonho Character Controversy. Please read if you wrote the post as a classmate," saying, "The Seonho I know is very polite and just a timid friend. It's a relief if he doesn't come back beaten up."
He added, "I am very worried that a friend I thought I knew well is going through this, and it's really hard to watch someone who claims to be a classmate fabricate such false stories at this time." Mr. B also shared a photo taken with Kim Seonho.
Salt Entertainment, Kim Seonho's agency, also stated that the allegations are "not true."
Meanwhile, on the 17th, a post titled "Exposing the double-faced and shameless reality of the trending actor K" was published on the online community 'Nate Pann.'
The poster, Mr. C, claimed to have dated K and alleged that K coerced her into having an abortion and unilaterally broke up with her. Netizens speculated that K was Kim Seonho based on the content of the post.
Subsequently, Kim Seonho issued a statement through his agency. Although he did not specifically address the abortion coercion allegations, he said, "I had a good relationship with that person. During that time, my negligence and thoughtless actions hurt her," and "I sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt."
In response, Mr. C revised the original post, stating, "Both he (Kim Seonho) and I sincerely loved each other, but seeing him collapse in an instant because of some of my harsh words makes me feel bad as well," and added, "He apologized to me, and it seems there were some misunderstandings between us."
