[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration (Director Jang Daegyo) is set to discover and nurture promising export-oriented small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The Gwangju-Jeonnam SME Administration announced that it will recruit ‘Promising Export SMEs for the First Half of 2022’ from the 25th of this month until July 12th.
Support for promising export SMEs includes preferential treatment when participating in export support projects from six institutions such as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small and Medium Business Corporation, as well as preferential loan and guarantee conditions from five policy financial institutions including the Korea Technology Finance Corporation and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and preferential interest rates and exchange rates from nine banks including NongHyup Bank, totaling benefits from 20 institutions.
Applications are open to all SMEs with direct or indirect export performance of less than 5 million USD in the previous year.

The Promising Export SMEs program recruits twice a year, in the first and second halves, to support the enhancement of export capabilities and competitiveness of SMEs. In the first half of this year, 21 companies in the Gwangju-Jeonnam region were designated.
