[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] A 'hydrogen aircraft' test research facility will be established in Seosan, Chungnam.
On the 22nd, Chungnam Province announced that it signed a mutual cooperation agreement with Seosan City, Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Construction, Hyundai Glovis, and others to establish a 'hydrogen fuel-based test aircraft test research environment.'
According to the agreement, Hyundai Motor will promote the development and demonstration of hydrogen fuel-based test aircraft technology in Seosan while supporting policy establishment for fostering related industries in the region.
Hyundai Construction will cooperate in establishing development plans, permits, and infrastructure plans and construction for the Seosan Bio-Wellbeing-Research Special Zone, and Hyundai Glovis will participate in building and operating a hydrogen supply chain suitable for hydrogen-based mobility and developing hydrogen supply technologies.
The province will be responsible for systematic fostering and support of the hydrogen-based mobility industry, regulatory exceptions, legal system improvements, consultations with the government and related organizations, and administrative and financial support, while Seosan City plans to support research and development, creation of residential conditions, regulatory exceptions and permits, and consultations with related organizations.
The province expects that through this agreement, fostering future hydrogen energy-related industries will bring effects such as revitalizing the regional economy.
Yang Seung-jo, Governor of Chungnam Province, said, "Hyundai Motor's hydrogen aircraft test will be a new starting point for 'air mobility,'" adding, "The province will spare no administrative and financial support for the company's business execution."
