[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Lotte Confectionery announced on the 22nd that it has chosen the slogan "Our Hearts, Closer Together" for Pepero Day on November 11, with the meaning of warming each other's hearts even more in the With Corona situation.

For the TV commercial, the message conveyed is to take the first step with courage to close the emotional distance, despite the daily life where face-to-face meetings have been difficult. The online advertisement featuring episodes of the Friends squad who became 'heroes' delivering their hearts against COVID-19 also captures the audience's attention. The emoticon Pepero Friends also appear. This year, in season 2, Hearticons are introduced. Hearticons evoke empathy in various ways through emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure.

Lotte Confectionery personified Pepero by decorating the packaging with Friends characters, each with their own personality and story. The camera and train-shaped case designs add fun for consumers. The 'Pepero Friends X Hottracks Bbakku Kit' and 'Pepero Decorating (Bbakku)' goods are also given as gifts. Using the materials included in the kit, customers can create unique gifts. Starting from the 18th of this month, 2,500 customers who purchase Pepero on a first-come, first-served basis at Lotte Confectionery’s own mall, Lotte Sweet Mall, will receive the 'Bbakku' kit. Additionally, customers who purchase a planned pack worth about 30,000 to 40,000 KRW by the 31st of this month will receive a camera kit as a gift.

The Instagram event will run until the 11th of next month. By following Lotte Confectionery’s official account and regramming the post of the desired goods on the event page, participants will be entered into a draw to win either a 'Bbakku' kit or a camera kit.

Meanwhile, Lotte Confectionery recently introduced 'Jeju Tangerine Pepero' using Jeju-grown tangerines as part of the Korean agricultural product win-win project. The Korean agricultural product win-win project is one of Pepero’s social contribution initiatives aimed at actively utilizing domestic agricultural products to promote consumption and satisfy customer needs by offering Pepero with unique flavors.
