[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] The conflict between the ruling and opposition parties over the 'Daejang-dong development special favor suspicion' in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, has reached a critical point. This time, a so-called 'Yangduguyuk doll' appeared at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government audit, sparking a sharp confrontation between lawmakers from both sides.
At the National Assembly Transportation Committee's audit of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government held on the 20th, Song Seokjun, a member of the People Power Party, suddenly pulled out a dog doll while stating that he would question Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.
The doll had a sheep's face attached to its head. Lawmaker Song appeared to indirectly criticize Governor Lee by using the Yangduguyuk (羊頭狗肉, meaning "a sheep's head but dog meat," an idiom implying something that looks good on the outside but is worthless inside) doll in relation to the Daejang-dong suspicion.
During his questioning, Song said, "The real name of this guy (the doll) I brought from near Daejang-dong was 'Daedongi.' But he ate something strange and started to smell bad, so I changed his name to 'Daettongi'."
In response, Democratic Party lawmakers strongly protested, saying, "What are you doing?" and "Put it down immediately," while People Power Party lawmakers countered, leading to loud exchanges inside the audit hall.

Cho Eungcheon, a Democratic Party lawmaker who presided over the audit that day, requested Song, saying, "I understand that there was an agreement among the secretaries not to bring placards or objects that could disrupt the audit atmosphere into the meeting room," and asked him to remove it. However, when Song did not comply, a recess was declared.
Eventually, Song put away the doll, and the meeting resumed after about 15 minutes.
Lee, who also attended the audit that day, mentioned the 'Yangduguyuk doll.' Upon seeing the doll Song brought out, Lee asked those around him, "What is that?" then said, "Ah, Yangduguyuk," and chuckled.
He said, "Yangduguyuk is a story about the People Power Party themselves," adding, "Song showed an interesting doll, but honestly, I don't understand why the Democratic Party protested. It seems like it was telling their (People Power Party's) own story."
He then criticized, "A wolf in sheep's clothing, Yangduguyuk, seeing them talk as if they are apostles of justice."
