[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] On the 21st, 11st announced that it has simultaneously obtained the international standard information security certification ‘ISO/IEC 27001’ and the personal information protection certification ‘ISO/IEC 27701’.
ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701, established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), are regarded as the most prestigious international standard certifications in the field of information security. To acquire ISO/IEC 27001 certification, an organization must pass audits covering a total of 14 areas and 114 management criteria, including ▲information security policies ▲physical security ▲information access control. In the case of ISO/IEC 27701, various elements that an organization must have to protect personal information, such as ▲personal information management procedures ▲encryption ▲de-identification, must comply with the guidelines required by the European General Data Protection Regulation.
11st obtained both certifications through a thorough audit and evaluation of its information security management system. The certification is valid for three years, with annual audits conducted to maintain the certification.
