[Asia Economy Reporter Ji-hwan Park] The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (KICPA) announced on the 21st that it has launched the ‘KICPA Academy Education Site’ and is recruiting students.
Applications will be accepted until the 29th. The courses will begin on the 1st of next month.
The initial courses offered are the Data Analytics Academy 1st term and the ESG Academy 1st term. The Data Analytics Academy 1st term consists of five subjects essential for data analysis: Python, Pandas, Regular Expressions, Database, and Power BI, along with two elective courses (choose one) from Fraudit and IDEA. The academy courses are delivered through video lectures and live Zoom sessions. The curriculum is systematically designed to enable practical application of computer-based audit techniques. The target audience is 20 CPA members.
The ESG Academy 1st term is composed of three courses (Basic, Expert, and Certification). It covers topics such as △Overview of ESG △ESG-related Accounting and Tax △ESG Evaluation and Investment △ESG Reporting and Disclosure △ESG Certification. A total of 28 lectures will be provided.
The education will be conducted from the 1st of next month until January 6th of the following year. Twenty experts from accounting firms, consulting companies, the Corporate Governance Service, and the Accounting Standards Board, who are responsible for ESG practice, will participate as instructors, which is expected to enhance the quality of education. The target audience is 200 CPA members.
Applications can be submitted on a first-come, first-served basis after registering on the KICPA Academy Education Site. Participants will receive credit for member training hours.
A KICPA official stated, “We hope that the newly established education site will provide CPA members with opportunities to develop their capabilities and expand their scope of work,” adding, “We plan to add more courses in the future and expand the target audience to the general public, putting more effort into the education business.”
