SK Energy Launches Upgraded Premium Gasoline with Enhanced Cleanliness

Contribution to Eco-Friendliness: Reducing Residue, Protecting Engines, and Decreasing Harmful Exhaust Emissions

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SK Energy, the petroleum business subsidiary of SK Innovation, has launched a new premium gasoline product with significantly enhanced cleanliness. It is an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) type gasoline reflecting consumers' needs who are highly interested in protecting their cars and their concern for the environment.

On the 21st, SK Energy announced the release of the renewed product "Solux plus+" by adding "Plus+" to the existing "Solux." The new product has been available at SK gas stations nationwide that handle premium gasoline since October 1st.

Although the domestic vehicle fuel market has stagnated due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the expansion of eco-friendly vehicles such as electric cars, the premium gasoline market has continued to grow, increasing by about 29% year-on-year as of 2020, influenced by a surge in sales of premium and imported vehicles.

When the "cleanliness" of vehicle fuel increases, engine deposits generated during the fuel combustion process decrease. This leads to engine protection, extended engine life, improved engine output and fuel efficiency, noise reduction, and other effects that protect and enhance vehicle performance. Additionally, it reduces harmful exhaust emissions, contributing to environmental protection.

With the renewed launch of "Solux Plus+," SK Energy expects to attract significant interest not only from existing premium gasoline customers who drive high-performance vehicles but also from general drivers who care about protecting their cars and the environment.
