[Luxury Collection] Yamaha Remix VD Series "The Ultimate Inertia Moment Master"

[Asia Economy Reporter Noo Rae Noh] "The most stable club in history."

These are the 2022 Remix (RMX) VD59 driver (photo) and VD40 irons released by Yamaha Golf's official agency, Orient Golf. VD stands for 'Vector Direction,' referring to the entire lineup that pursues directional control and straight-line stability. The numbers '59' and '40' following VD represent the maximum moment of inertia (MOI) limits set by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R&A): 5900 g·cm² for the driver and the highest iron MOI of 4000 g·cm², respectively.

The VD59 driver surpassed the maximum MOI of 5760 g·cm² held by the Remix 220, achieving 5820 g·cm². It features a sliding weight in the club head that maintains a constant MOI. According to the manufacturer, it is "a model made with the sole purpose of providing a square impact to all golfers." The face area and surface have been reduced to achieve weight reduction, enabling more efficient energy transfer to the ball.

The boost ring technology applied in the existing Remix remains the same. The VD40 irons have additional weight placed on the hosel and toe, called the 'Double Neck.' This is a uniquely designed shape born from meticulously calculated engineering. The rib on the back face produces a pleasant hitting sound. The design and color evoke the image of an alien life form. Although it has a sleek and small head, it offers excellent maneuverability. The high bounce and score lines are impressive.
