Lee Jae-myung: "The Essence of Daejang-dong Revealed Through the National Audit"

In his closing remarks at the National Assembly Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee's audit held at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government office that afternoon, Governor Lee self-assessed, "Thanks to the sharp questions and criticisms from the members, it seems that the essence and stem of the Daejang-dong issue have been largely revealed."

He continued, "Although I can only express my apologies to the public with some regret, we have blocked illegal profits resulting from the alliance of certain political and construction forces to the maximum extent for the citizens of Seongnam," adding, "It is not 100%, but we have achieved considerable results. It seems that the public has come to recognize this as a rare and exceptional case that is not easily seen in other local governments."

He said, "Although there is some regret that the audit did not fully examine the general affairs of the provincial government, it seems to have become an opportunity for the public to better understand me personally and the Seongnam municipal administration," adding, "I would like to express special thanks to several members for sorting out the numerous side issues that deceived the public through intentional fake news distortion and agitation. I mean it sincerely. Although some of the attacks may have been intended to slander, they greatly helped me present my position."
