According to the Office for Government Policy Coordination on the same day, Prime Minister Kim instructed the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, the Minister of National Defense, and the Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard, saying, "Mobilize all available vessels, aircraft, fishing boats, merchant ships, and government vessels operating nearby to do your best in life-saving efforts, and ensure the safety of the rescue teams."
Since the accident site is in the distant sea 168 km northeast of Dokdo, diplomatic efforts were also requested to enable cooperation with neighboring countries such as Japan and Russia.
