Kangwon Land Establishes New Business Division to Secure Growth Engine

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Kangwon Land is securing future growth engines by establishing temporary organizations focused on innovation. The plan is to enhance the profitability of its resort business through this initiative.

According to Kangwon Land on the 20th, the company newly established PB Product Development TF and Pet Club Operation TF as teams directly under the Strategy Headquarters last month. The purpose is to secure future growth engines by expanding the profitability and scope of the resort business.

The Pet Club Operation TF was created as part of the resort business to take a step closer to becoming a national happiness shelter, aiming to strengthen resort competitiveness by creating spaces where pet owners and non-pet owners can coexist.

Going forward, the plan is to actively develop specialized spaces and pet-related content within the resort, including operating pet-friendly rooms, pet-friendly cafes, dedicated playgrounds, and experiential programs, to introduce and spread pet culture.

The PB Product Development TF will develop meal kits and other products following the HOME COOK trend and sell them directly to customers. Additionally, it plans to expand sales channels online and actively enter the dining business market to increase non-casino revenue. Furthermore, experiential products related to the preparation process of PB products will be sold simultaneously to develop multi-sensory satisfaction products that customers can truly feel and enjoy.

Yang Hyun-mo, the New Business Team Leader, stated, “We will discover new businesses to secure future growth engines and increase our influence in the resort market. By fully launching new business items, we aim to offer customers enjoyable memories with upgraded content.”

Meanwhile, since the opening of the Palace Hotel in 2000, Kangwon Land has diagnosed issues caused by aging accommodation facilities and is currently operating the High1 Renovation TF, an organization leading urgent repair projects and room renovations.
