[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT) announced on the 20th that it has published a joint research report on ‘Investment in Startups and SME Finance’ with the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI).

The joint research began in 2019 when Yoon Dae-hee, Chairman of KODIT, and Naoyuki Yoshino, then Director of ADBI, discussed the ‘KODIT-ADBI joint cooperation project.’

KODIT formed a separate task force (TF) and completed research reports in three areas through opinions from academia and experts in related fields. The areas are ▲ ways to enhance the effectiveness of startup finance through case analysis of KODIT, ▲ cases of improving financial accessibility for SMEs using new financial technologies, and ▲ the new role of guarantee institutions in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution and inclusive growth.

The research reports were introduced at a ‘joint conference’ held in Tokyo, Japan, in January last year, attended by over 50 public institution officials from 14 Asian countries. The published joint research report includes the outcomes of the joint research by KODIT and ADBI, along with 12 reports presented at the conference.

Yoon Dae-hee, Chairman of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, stated, “It is of great significance to promote KODIT’s innovative financial achievements through research reports published by international organizations.”
