LINE WORKS Wins 2021 Japan Good Design Award

LINE WORKS Wins 2021 Japan Good Design Award

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Naver Cloud announced on the 20th that its business collaboration tool 'Line Works' won the 'Mobile Application and Software' category at Japan's '2021 Good Design Award.'

This is the second time Line Works has won a Good Design Award. Following its award in 2019 for Brand Creative Identity (CI) and Visual Identity (VI) categories, it has been two years since the last recognition.

Line Works has focused on the transformation of work styles from email to messenger and from PC to mobile phones, continuously evolving to enable users to intuitively manage their tasks and achieve work-life balance anywhere beyond the limited office space.

To support remote work environments, Line Works improved over 80 features in its V3.0 regular update last February and has reinforced the service through two subsequent updates. It provides an all-in-one service with all necessary functions for work, including messaging, email, drive, and video conferencing, and supports seamless work communication through integration with Line and external Line Works users.

The Good Design Award judging panel highly evaluated Line Works' efforts and progress in continuously updating the service in response to the spread of remote work due to COVID-19. The panel stated, "Considering the trend where traditional offline-centered work methods have shifted to online work occurring at rates equal to or exceeding offline work after the pandemic, Line Works' design overhaul is a good example indicating the need for systems or collaboration tools responding to remote work environments to be redefined to meet new expectations."

Oh Wonjin, Line Works' Chief Design Leader, shared his thoughts, saying, "While maintaining a simple and friendly user interface, adding functions in line with changing times and focusing on the core functions of collaboration tools?rapid task processing and productivity improvement?seems to have led to this award."
