KOSDAQ Also Smooth Sailing Above 1000
Institutions and Foreigners Both Selling

[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The KOSPI opened slightly higher, showing the 3030s in the early session. The KOSDAQ is also cruising around the 1000 mark.
On the 20th, the KOSPI opened at 3043.13, up 0.47% (14.09 points) from the previous day. As of 9:30 AM, it recorded 3038.93.
In the securities market, foreigners and institutions sold net amounts worth 2.1 billion KRW and 31.6 billion KRW, respectively. Individuals bought a net amount worth 39.9 billion KRW.
Many sectors rose. Banks (0.96%), services (0.89%), chemicals (0.88%), and pharmaceuticals (0.81%) were among the top gainers. Non-metallic minerals (-1.10%) and steel & metals (-0.93%) declined.
All of the top 10 market capitalization stocks were on the rise. LG Chem (2.17%), Celltrion (2.06%), NAVER (1.84%), Kia (1.19%), Kakao (1.18%), Samsung SDI (0.96%), Hyundai Motor (0.72%), SK Hynix (0.51%), and Samsung Electronics (0.28%) followed in order.
The KOSDAQ opened at 1009.11, up 0.37% (3.76 points) from the previous day. As of 9:30 AM, it stood at 1011.36.
In the KOSDAQ market, foreigners and institutions sold net amounts worth 55 billion KRW and 7.5 billion KRW, respectively. Individuals purchased a net amount worth 76.5 billion KRW.
Almost all sectors showed gains. Entertainment & culture (2.34%), distribution (1.42%), broadcasting services (1.33%), and non-metallic sectors (1.24%) had the largest increases. Paper & wood (-0.70%) and construction (-1.13%) declined.
Among the top 10 market capitalization stocks, Pearl Abyss had the largest gain at 3.27%. It was followed by Celltrion Pharm (1.95%), Celltrion Healthcare (1.82%), CJ ENM (1.46%), and Kakao Games (0.55%). HL Biopharma (-3.14%), L&F (-1.79%), Wemade (-0.51%), SK Materials (-0.32%), and EcoPro BM (-0.29%) declined.
