[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] The Korean-type space launch vehicle Nuriho completed its transfer to the launch pad at Naro Space Center in Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, on the morning of the 20th, one day before the launch.
At around 7:20 a.m. that day, Nuriho was loaded onto an unmanned special transport vehicle (transporter) from the launch vehicle assembly building and transported to the launch pad over approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Afterward, following preparation procedures, it will be erected on the launch pad during the morning. In the afternoon, an umbilical will be connected to supply power, fuel, and oxidizer propellants to Nuriho, and a leak-tightness inspection will be conducted to check for any leaks.
Nuriho is scheduled to be launched around 4 p.m. the next day after final inspections and the fueling and oxidizer injection processes. The final launch time will be confirmed at the launch management committee meeting held at 2:30 p.m. on the day of the launch.
Developed over 12 years since 2010 with an investment of 1.9572 trillion won by the Republic of Korea, Nuriho is the first independent space launch vehicle. It has a length of 47.2 meters, a weight of 200 tons, and a maximum diameter of 3.5 meters. It is designed with a maximum thrust of 300 tons to carry a 1.5-ton satellite to an altitude of 600 to 800 kilometers.
