[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 20th that it will hold the 'Seoul Work-Life Balance Expo' online on the 21st.
Now in its third year, the Seoul Work-Life Balance Expo consists of three parts: an awards ceremony recognizing excellent companies practicing work-life balance systems tailored to their corporate characteristics, a CEO forum, and a conference. The event will be broadcast live through the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Foundation of Women & Family YouTube channels.
The first part, the awards ceremony, will honor a total of seven companies and institutions in categories including companies (institutions) excelling in flexible working hours and locations such as improvements in flexible work systems, early leave policies, and telecommuting systems; companies (institutions) with outstanding organizational culture improvements involving employee participation for work-life balance; and companies (institutions) offering customized programs for employees to support work-life balance.
The second part, the CEO forum, will feature Seoul-type small and strong enterprises that have received work-life balance consulting sharing their experiences in expanding flexible work systems and implementing grievance committees and employee communication programs.
The third part, the conference, will present the results of the 'Seoul-type Small and Strong Enterprises Youth Work-Life Balance Demand Survey' and share the current status and demands of work-life balance among youth in small and medium-sized enterprises. Three experts in the field, policy, and business will hold a discussion on the work-life balance support provided by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and directions for improvement.
In particular, through this CEO forum and conference, support measures for work-life balance for young citizens such as single-person households and childless married households working in various companies will also be discussed. Furthermore, the work-life balance policies proposed at the conference will be actively reflected in the future policy directions and detailed implementation tasks of the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Kim Seon-soon, Director of the Women and Family Policy Office of Seoul, said, “Seoul is making efforts to introduce and spread systems for work-life balance through consulting targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises,” adding, “We hope this expo will provide an opportunity for more citizens to learn about work-life balance systems and apply them appropriately to their companies.”
