Visit to Songbaek-ri Senior Sports Facility and Namgaram Sports Park
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 19th, the Planning and Culture Committee of Jinju City Council in Gyeongnam visited two sports facilities in Jinju City and the restoration project sites of Jungyeong and Seonhwadang within Jinju Fortress during the 233rd Jinju City Council extraordinary session standing committee activity period.
The Songbaek-ri Senior Citizens' Sports Facility is scheduled to be completed in October, consisting of one 36-hole park golf course, two ground golf courses, and six gateball courts, to respond to the increased demand for senior citizens' sports facilities due to population aging. The installation of a roof over the tennis courts in Namgaram Sports Park is expected to be completed in November.
Chairman Park Cheol-hong and the committee members, after receiving a progress report from the relevant officials on that day, urged, "Since these sports facilities will be widely used by citizens for leisure activities, please do your best to ensure smooth construction to prevent any inconvenience to the citizens."
Additionally, immediately after touring the sports facilities, the Planning and Culture Committee moved to Jinju Fortress, toured Seonhwadang (Unjujeon) and the Jungyeong site, and received a report from the department in charge of Seonhwadang on the progress and issues of the restoration project, showing deep interest in the progress.
Seonhwadang (Unjujeon) was the former office of the provincial governor, and its restoration holds great significance in restoring the city's status as the capital city of Gyeongnam and enhancing the historical value of Jinju Fortress.
