The release dates for Marvel superhero movies such as the sequels to 'Doctor Strange,' 'Thor,' and 'Black Panther' have also been delayed one after another.
According to the AP News on the 18th (local time), the U.S. film production company Disney announced a new release schedule for these upcoming movies.
The fifth Indiana Jones film was originally scheduled to be released in July next year but has been postponed by about a year to June 2023.
The currently filming Indiana Jones 5 stars Harrison Ford, who is 79 years old this year, drawing attention. The production was disrupted after Ford suffered a shoulder injury on set last June.
Disney also postponed the release schedules of movies produced by its subsidiary Marvel Studios all at once.
'Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness' has been pushed to May 2022, 'Thor: Love and Thunder' to July 2022, and 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' to November 2022. Additionally, 'The Marvels' will be released in February 2023, and 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' in July 2023.
The delayed Marvel movies are currently undergoing script work and production.
AFP News reported, "Because Marvel movies are organically connected according to the 'Marvel Universe' (a shared fictional world of Marvel superheroes), if the release of one movie is delayed, it causes a domino effect impacting the release of other movies."
