NH Investment & Securities-Seoul National University, Opening of the 17th 100-Year Life University

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] NH Investment & Securities announced on the 19th that it has opened the 17th term of the premium education program for the new middle-aged generation, ‘100-Year Life University.’ ‘100-Year Life University’ is a specialized education program jointly developed by NH Investment & Securities’ 100-Year Life Research Institute, the top research institution in life asset management and retirement planning, and Seoul National University’s Center for Aging and Retirement Planning Support, targeting VIP clients around retirement age.

The first day of the course began with a lecture on South Korea’s cultural and social trends, and the closing lecture will feature Professor Cho Young-tae of Seoul National University with ‘Demography Reading the Future,’ providing insights into Korea’s macro trends. Additionally, lectures on joint health, exercise methods, and dementia prevention, which are practically helpful for people in their 50s and 60s, will be conducted, along with detailed discussions on contemporary topics such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution and strategies for the Chinese market. Lectures on the psychology of aging and happiness for students around retirement age are also an essential part of the program.

The 17th term offers both offline and online classes simultaneously. The number of online applicants reached about 250, showing the highest application rate compared to previous Life University courses that were only conducted in classrooms. There was a high demand for online classes not only from provincial areas but also from the Seoul metropolitan area, confirming a strong desire to take quality retirement education programs from home amid the COVID-19 situation.

CEO Jung Young-chae said in his opening remarks, “In the 100-year era, one must continuously learn, study, and enjoy new things,” adding, “100-Year Life University will provide the joy of learning while offering new insights and values for planning the second half of life.”

Meanwhile, the graduation ceremony for the 17th term of 100-Year Life University will be held on December 6th, with classes conducted every Monday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM over eight weeks at Seoul National University lecture halls. Both online and offline attendees will be subject to the same graduation criteria and will be awarded certificates of completion.
