Air Seoul Resumes International Tourist Routes After 700 Days


[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Air Seoul announced on the 19th that it will resume flights on the Incheon~Guam route, which had been suspended due to the spread of COVID-19, after about 700 days.


The company will operate the Incheon~Guam route twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays starting December 23. In addition to Guam, it plans to gradually expand international flights focusing on resort destinations with honeymoon demand such as Saipan.


An Air Seoul official said, “With the promotion of the With-Corona policy, travel sentiment is gradually recovering, so we plan to respond proactively in cooperation with travel agencies,” adding, “We are monitoring government policies and preparing to resume international flights in a timely manner, focusing on countries where travel bubble agreements are being pursued.”


Meanwhile, Air Seoul suspended all 19 international routes it was operating as of March 2020 due to the domestic spread of COVID-19. After completely halting international flights, it increased flights on the Gimpo~Jeju route and launched domestic routes such as Gimpo~Busan (Gimhae) and Busan~Jeju, and in August and October last year, it newly launched routes to Yantai and Qingdao targeting business demand.
