[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] OK Baejeong Scholarship Foundation announced on the 19th that it held the 2021 Global Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony together with YBLN at the 19th World Korean Business Convention.


The OK Baejeong Scholarship Foundation is an organization funded by OK Financial Group affiliates such as OK Savings Bank and OK Capital.


The World Korean Business Convention is a gathering of Korean ethnic entrepreneurs (Korean Businesspeople) to build a network. It has been held since 2002 and marked its 19th event this year. Within the World Korean Business Convention, the network community formed by young entrepreneurs is YBLN. Currently, about 206 members from 37 countries participate.


Since 2018, the OK Baejeong Scholarship Foundation has been raising funds with YBLN to provide scholarships. The recipients are global overseas Korean students recommended by YBLN members. Selection is based on academic performance, income level, and application documents. On this day, six selected students were awarded a total scholarship of 15 million KRW for one year.


The award ceremony was attended by Choi Yoon, Chairman of OK Financial Group; Lee Juhan, President of YBLN; Vice Presidents Noh Hyung-woo and Kim Shin-jae of YBLN; and Seo Jeong-il, Chairman of the Scholarship Committee.


Choi Yoon, Chairman of OK Financial Group, emphasized, “I hope the children of overseas Koreans can realize their academic aspirations without economic difficulties and grow into global talents.”
