Thailand Exempts Fully Vaccinated Individuals from Self-Quarantine
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Jeju Air announced on the 19th that it will start operating charter flights for golf tourism on the Incheon?Thailand Chiang Mai route from the 5th of next month.
The Incheon?Chiang Mai route departs from Incheon International Airport every Friday at 6 PM and leaves Chiang Mai at 11:30 PM, arriving in Incheon at 6:20 AM the next day. The charter flight on the Incheon?Chiang Mai route is a golf travel product designed for overseas golf demand who have completed vaccination, making it the first domestic charter flight product for golf tourism after COVID-19.
Jeju Air’s “Thailand?Chiang Mai Atitaya C.C Golf Tour” uses the Atitaya Resort, the only government-designated quarantine accommodation in Chiang Mai, allowing safe lodging from COVID-19. It offers up to 36 holes of rounds per day and includes resort meals throughout the itinerary.
Earlier, the Thai government announced that starting next month, foreigners who have completed COVID-19 vaccination will be exempt from self-quarantine, allowing entry to major travel destinations. Chiang Mai is an ancient city located about 700 km north of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, situated in a highland area over 300 meters above sea level, with relatively cool weather. Unlike bustling Bangkok, Chiang Mai is surrounded by mountains and offers a quiet and leisurely travel experience.
Customers wishing to use this product must bring a PCR negative test certificate in English issued within 72 hours before departure and an English certificate of the second vaccination. Detailed information on reservations, travel schedules, and precautions can be found on the travel agency and Atitaya C.C website.
Jeju Air stated, "In line with the with-COVID-19 movements of major overseas countries including Thailand, we are preparing to resume international flights by applying for route permits," and added, "In addition to launching the Chiang Mai charter flight, we plan to resume major Thai routes such as Incheon?Bangkok within this year."
