[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Are you looking for a ‘hot place’ that captures the deepening autumn?

At ‘Yeonjine House’ inside Sangju Gotgam Park in Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk, visitors from all over the country are flocking to find their best photos.

Yeonjine House is decorated as the home of Yeonji, the main character in the fairy tale titled ‘Gotgam scarier than a tiger.’

To mark this year’s gotgam harvest season, Sangju City hung strings of dried persimmons under the eaves of Yeonjine House. It has become a popular spot for taking ‘life photos’ with the bunches of gotgam hanging in the background.

Word of mouth and photo buzz have increased the number of tourists visiting this village.

Besides Yeonjine House, the outdoor area of Gotgam Park features models of a tiger and Halmi Spring, and a walking trail is laid out along the outer perimeter.

Also, inside Gamrakwon, the walls are decorated based on scenes from the fairy tale, warmly welcoming visitors.

Kang Young-seok, mayor of Sangju-si, said, “I am glad that Sangju Gotgam Park serves as a healing place where children and families can enjoy their time. We will beautify the park further so that even more tourists can visit.”
