This tournament featured 16 little baseball teams from the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, who showcased their skills as the future of Korean baseball.

The Gyeongsan Little Baseball Team won their first round of 16 match against the Andong City Little Baseball Team from Gyeongbuk with a score of 7-0, defeated the Gumi City Little Baseball Team from Gyeongbuk 8-2 in the quarterfinals, and secured their place in the finals by beating the Daegu Seo-gu Little Baseball Team 10-2 in the semifinals.

Then, on the 16th, they claimed the championship trophy with an overwhelming 16-4 victory against the Daegu Jung-gu Little Baseball Team in the final.

Founded by Gyeongsan City in 2009 to nurture local baseball talents, the Gyeongsan Little Baseball Team has established itself as a powerhouse in little baseball nationwide, sweeping championships in various national and Daegu-Gyeongbuk tournaments, including this recent victory.

Outfield player Kang Do-hoon and pitcher Jang Jae-hyuk, who were selected by the Samsung Lions in the ‘2022 KBO Rookie Draft’ last September, are alumni of the Gyeongsan Little Baseball Team.

Currently, the Gyeongsan Little Baseball Team has 50 little league players and 25 junior players who are training hard, dreaming of becoming the next Lee Man-soo, Lee Seung-yeop, or Yang Joon-hyuk.

Choi Young-jo, Mayor of Gyeongsan City and head of the Gyeongsan Little Baseball Team, said, "I am very pleased that our local young talents are growing into players who can represent Korean baseball." He added, "The city will continue to provide unwavering support so that children, the future talents, can fully develop and nurture their abilities."
