[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyuk-jong) is actively working to help its students succeed in securing employment at public institutions relocated to Bitgaram Innovation City.
According to Gwangju University on the 18th, the university's Career Services Center held online and offline recruitment briefings to convey key information about hiring at public institutions relocated to Bitgaram Innovation City and to boost students' confidence and employment capabilities.
The recruitment briefings for public institutions relocated to Bitgaram Innovation City were held three times. On the 8th, an in-person offline briefing by Korea Rural Community Corporation was held at the university, attended by 26 students who had a Q&A session with HR representatives.
The participating students expressed high satisfaction. According to the satisfaction survey of the Korea Rural Community Corporation briefing, over 90% of students responded "yes" to items such as ▲it helped with career and job preparation ▲they gained new information ▲the content was systematically organized, and they expressed hopes for recruitment briefings in various fields.
Earlier in April, online non-face-to-face recruitment briefings were held for Korea Electric Power Corporation and Korea Internet & Security Agency, with 37 and 47 students participating respectively, concluding successfully.
Through the recruitment briefings conducted with real-time conversations and special lectures, students had a meaningful time listening to HR representatives' interview experiences and specific job preparation skills, responding that they "overcame fear of employment and gained a lot of information" and "were able to resolve questions through the Q&A session."
Yoon Hong-sang, head of Gwangju University Career Services Center, said, "Since the students' response has been enthusiastic, we will operate programs to provide recruitment information not only for public institutions in Bitgaram Innovation City but also in various fields to support them."
Meanwhile, Gwangju University ranked first in average employment rate among four-year private universities in the Gwangju area in the 'Da' group (with 1,000 to less than 2,000 graduates) based on information disclosure for the recent two years (2019 and 2020), through customized employment capability enhancement VIPS and various programs supporting students from admission to post-graduation employment.
