[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Professor Woo Jong-tae of the Department of Drone Construction Environment at Kyungbok University received the Grand Prize at the 'Seoul City Construction Awards.'
Kyungbok University announced on the 18th that Professor Woo Jong-tae was awarded the highest honor, the 'Grand Prize,' at the '2021 Seoul City Construction Awards' ceremony held recently in the main building's video conference room at Seoul City Hall.
Professor Woo is a leading expert in Korea in the field of construction measurement and deep tunnel and underground space development. Over the past five years, he has published seven excellent papers and numerous construction technology books related to Seoul subway and light rail construction and underground structure measurement technology research results.
He has also served as a member of the Seoul City Construction Technology Review Committee, Construction New Technology Utilization Review Committee, Excavation Review Committee, and Architectural Safety Advisory Group, significantly contributing to the establishment of a system to strengthen public roles for the design, construction, maintenance, and citizen life and safety of Seoul's urban infrastructure.
The Seoul City Construction Awards are given by Seoul City to individuals and organizations that have contributed to infrastructure construction and technological development.
Professor Woo promised, "I will continue to devote myself to in-depth research, writing activities, and nurturing creative construction technology talents to build safe and high-quality urban infrastructure and advance construction technology."
