Mokpo Coast Guard Begins Field Training for 243rd New Maritime Police Officers

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Im Jae-su) announced on the 18th that it held the 243rd new maritime police officers' station training registration ceremony in the auditorium of the building while complying with COVID-19 quarantine guidelines.

A total of 54 trainees (41 males, 13 females) are subject to the station training, and from the 18th until January 28 of next year, they will spend 15 weeks enhancing maritime expertise at Mokpo Maritime Police Station, patrol vessels, and police substations, laying the foundation to become strong maritime police officers in the field.

Chief Im Jae-su said, "The maritime police are responsible for various duties such as sovereignty protection, safety management, establishment of public order, and environmental protection in the maritime space, so securing the highest level of expertise in all areas of activity is essential."
