Former Hanwha Asset CEO Kim Yonghyun Appointed Co-CEO of Invisioning

[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] Former Hanwha Asset Management CEO Kim Yong-hyun was appointed co-CEO of impact investment firm Envisioning Partners on the 18th.

CEO Kim, together with CEO Je Hyeon-ju, will strengthen their global presence as a leading impact investment firm. In particular, they will actively discover solutions in the climate-tech sector, where international cooperation is absolutely crucial, and support portfolio companies aiming to enter the global market by connecting the necessary resources to accelerate commercialization.

Envisioning Partners is a venture capital firm that adopts impact investing as the fundamental premise of its investment philosophy and strategy. It invests in startups that transform significant social and environmental issues of our time into large market opportunities. The firm focuses especially on solutions for climate change, wellness, education, and the future of work. It holds a portfolio of over 30 startups across Korea, the United States, Vietnam, Singapore, and other regions.

CEO Kim is an investment expert with experience spanning various investment types and areas, including domestic and international stocks and bonds, ETFs, global asset allocation solutions, and alternative investments including venture capital. With over 20 years of overseas investment experience and an extensive network covering domestic and international large corporations, investment firms, and advisory companies, he plans to further strengthen Envisioning’s growth capabilities.

From 2016, CEO Kim served as CEO of Hanwha Asset Management for five years, leading solid growth into a comprehensive asset management company with assets under management (AUM) exceeding 100 trillion won. Previously, he served as head of the alternative investment division at Hanwha Life Insurance. He also oversaw Korean buyout investments while serving as CEO of Carlyle Korea.
