[Asia Economy Reporter Ji Yeon-jin] Samil Accounting Corporation (CEO Yoon Hoon-soo) announced on the 18th that it has launched the Audit Committee School program this year.
The Audit Committee School is an online education program for audit committee members and auditors, providing a variety of content covering professional knowledge on accounting, auditing, and finance, recent issues, and information for the effective operation of audits (committees).
The Samil Audit Committee School program consists of an introductory course, a refresher course, and elective courses that can be taken freely as needed. This year, five refresher courses and seven elective courses were newly added, including recently important topics such as digital, ESG, and internal accounting control systems.
Meanwhile, listed companies must specifically disclose the education content provided to auditors and audit committee members in their business reports. In addition, whether education is provided to audit committee members is a key indicator in the corporate governance report, and its compliance status is specified. Starting next year, the mandatory disclosure of corporate governance reports will be expanded to listed companies (KOSPI market) with total assets of 1 trillion won or more.
The Samil Audit Committee School is offered free of charge to audit committee members or auditors of listed companies and large unlisted companies, and certificates of completion are issued upon finishing the introductory and refresher courses.
