Kakao Brain Wins Video Challenge at International Conference on Computer Vision


[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kakao Brain announced on the 18th that it won first place in the video category challenge at the International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV).


Kakao Brain participates in the computer vision conference, which receives over 1,600 paper submissions annually, and conducts a competitive challenge before the conference begins.


The "Value Challenge" that Kakao Brain participated in is a competition evaluating artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in video recognition and understanding. It tests AI models that simultaneously comprehend video and natural language, where the level of AI technology to understand and judge videos in real time determines the outcome.


Kakao Brain took first place and overall victory in the task where AI infers context from video information and textual data within the video to solve problems.


Mincheol Shin, AI researcher at Kakao Brain, stated, "Kakao Brain will continue to strive to introduce innovative video-related technologies, including developing new methodologies in the field of video recognition."


Meanwhile, Kakao Brain published a total of 13 AI papers in prestigious domestic and international conferences last year, and in the first half of this year, it published 9 papers in global conferences.
