Skylife Altteul Phone to Enter Coupang... "Expanding Sales Channels and Customer Benefits"

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT Skylife announced on the 18th that its budget phone brand, ‘Skylife Mobile,’ will be launched on Coupang, a major domestic e-commerce platform, within this month.

Since the launch of Skylife Mobile in October last year, Skylife has been gradually entering online and offline distribution channels to increase customer accessibility and expand sales channels across various sectors. Starting with the sale of SIM cards through its own online mall, Skylife Direct Shop, it secured offline sales channels through partnerships with GS25 convenience stores and Emart24 convenience stores, catering to home-around consumption near residences amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, in July this year, Skylife Mobile was launched on Naver Smart Store, followed by entries into TMON and Interpark in August, diversifying sales routes to popular online markets such as 11st, Gmarket, and Auction. Notably, it is also set to enter Coupang, a major domestic e-commerce platform, within this month, further expanding customer touchpoints.

Customer benefits will also be enhanced with the expansion of sales channels. Beyond existing promotions, starting today, promotions will be conducted across all online sales channels where Skylife Mobile is available. Customer benefits include various content subscriptions related to music, web novels, and broadcasting, and considering the increasing demand for ‘budget phones + unlocked phones,’ gifts tailored to recently released unlocked phones will also be provided.

Customer convenience will be improved as well. In August, Skylife launched ‘Skylife BaroTalk,’ a KakaoTalk chatbot service, becoming the first paid broadcasting service to offer product subscription via KakaoTalk. To make it easier for existing and new customers to handle subscription information and product changes, a new mobile service application will be launched within this month to further enhance customer convenience.

Bundled discount benefits will continue to be offered. Since launching Skylife Mobile last year, Skylife has been providing TPS services that combine broadcasting, internet, and mobile services at reasonable prices to the entire nation as the first budget phone operator.

For example, combining satellite broadcasting and 100M internet with a 30% discount home bundle (19,800 KRW) and the cheapest mobile slim plan (4,400 KRW) results in a total of 24,200 KRW. Combining the mobile ‘Modu Chungbun 11GB+’ plan allows customers to use comprehensive wired and wireless services for 49,500 KRW per month, including discounts. Additionally, customers who previously watched satellite broadcasting and newly subscribe to mobile services can watch TV free of charge for one month.

Kim Euihyun, Head of Sales at Skylife, said, "We are growing as a practical budget phone operator through the expansion of various online and offline sales channels, enhanced benefits, and improved convenience," adding, "We will actively pursue business in various directions to secure competitiveness in the market."
