Geumcheon Musical Center, Musical Picnic 'Jazz Camping' Performance

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Geumcheon Cultural Foundation will hold the 2021 Musical Picnic ‘Jazz Camping’ at 7:30 PM on the 22nd at the Geumcheon Musical Center’s Geumcheon Arts Theater.

The 2021 Musical Picnic ‘Jazz Camping’ is the first planned performance of the Geumcheon Musical Center under the subtitle ‘Song from the Golden Age.’ Audiences can enjoy a collection of jazz musicals on an autumn night and feel as if they are on a picnic into the golden age of Broadway musicals.

This performance focuses on famous songs from the golden age of Broadway musicals, spanning from the 1940s to the 1960s. Through live jazz performances and introductions to representative songs, it is designed to be easily understood by residents who are new to musicals.

Additionally, the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation expects this to be a special performance unlike any other, featuring various elements such as stage production that evokes a camping atmosphere in the city.

Famous songs to be featured include ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow,’ known as the theme song of The Wizard of Oz; ‘The Way You Look Tonight,’ a representative song from the top dance musical Swing Time; and ‘On the Street Where You Live,’ a signature song from My Fair Lady, which set the longest-running record during its Broadway premiere.

Tickets for the performance can be reserved through the ‘Performances and Exhibitions’ board on the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation website or by phone inquiry at the Geumcheon Musical Center.
