Gwangju Area Entertainment Venues and Karaoke Business Hours Readjusted from Midnight to 10 PM

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The operating hours for entertainment establishments and singing practice rooms in the Gwangju area have been adjusted again.

Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 17th that it will readjust the operating restrictions for six types of entertainment establishments and singing practice rooms to 10 PM.

On the 15th, Gwangju City announced social distancing guidelines, extending the operating hours for six types of entertainment establishments and singing practice rooms by two hours, from 10 PM to midnight.

However, the central quarantine authorities requested this adjustment to unify operating hours nationwide to firmly block the spread of infection for two weeks, maintaining quarantine balance among local governments and ahead of the phased return to normal life in November.

Other quarantine rules remain unchanged.

All private gatherings are currently allowed up to 10 people, increased from 8. However, unvaccinated individuals can only gather up to 4 people, as before.

Assemblies and events are allowed up to 49 people as before, and with vaccinated individuals added, participation can increase up to 99 people. However, assemblies and demonstrations are strictly limited to 49 participants without exception.

Vaccinated individuals refer to those who have passed 14 days after their second vaccination.

Quarantine rules for some livelihood facilities are also relaxed.

Restaurants and cafes can operate until midnight. From midnight to 5 AM, operations are restricted, and only takeout and delivery are allowed during this time.

If confirmed cases occur due to quarantine violations at these facilities, the establishments will be suspended from operation for three weeks according to the principle of voluntary responsibility in quarantine.

Also, weddings can have up to 250 attendees, including up to 49 unvaccinated individuals, regardless of whether meals are provided.

From the 18th, shower facilities will be allowed to operate at indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

Sports game attendance is allowed up to 20% capacity indoors and 30% outdoors, as before, and large-scale sports events can be held only if a minimum number of participants are vaccinated individuals.

Religious facilities can hold religious activities at up to 20% capacity as before, and with vaccinated individuals added, capacity can increase up to 30%. However, prohibitions on small gatherings, meals, and overnight stays remain in place.

Additionally, direct sales promotion centers will have their operating hour restrictions lifted, and lodging facilities will also have their room operation restrictions lifted.
