[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop]Nam Wook, a lawyer considered a key figure in the Daejang-dong development and lobbying favoritism case, boarded a flight to Korea from the United States on the afternoon of the 17th (local time).

Nam arrived at Tom Bradley International Airport in Los Angeles (LA), California, USA, around 10:12 PM that night and said to reporters, "I am sorry." When asked if he coordinated his return with the prosecution, he replied, "There was no such thing."

He then responded, "I will explain everything in detail to the prosecution once I get there," before heading to the check-in counter.

Nam is scheduled to arrive at Incheon Airport at 5 AM on the 18th. Upon his return, he will appear before the special investigation team at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office to be questioned about the Daejang-dong allegations.

He participated in the development project when Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, changed the public development to a public-private joint development in 2014 while serving as mayor of Seongnam City. He invested 87.21 million KRW in the development project and received dividends amounting to approximately 170 billion KRW.
