On the 14th, the National Police Agency's YouTube channel uploaded a video titled "Who is the Wonder Woman waving a warning baton in the first lane of the highway?" The video captured a car driving unstably on the highway. After passing through the Hi-Pass, the vehicle stopped in the first lane, and the male driver who got out appeared to be intoxicated, unable to maintain his balance properly.
Upon witnessing the vehicle, a woman stopped her car behind the stopped vehicle in the first lane and took out a warning baton to wave it. This was to prevent a secondary accident caused by the sudden stop of the vehicle. Even as the driver slumped on the road, the woman waved the warning baton with one hand while holding and supporting the man with the other.
The police stated that thanks to the woman immediately reporting the vehicle upon discovery, they were able to quickly dispatch to the scene. The alcohol test revealed that the driver's blood alcohol concentration was at a level warranting license suspension.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that the woman who prevented the accident at the scene was a police officer. She had witnessed the drunk driving vehicle while on her way home after supporting epidemiological investigations at a temporary screening clinic, and she said that she always carried safety equipment such as a warning baton in her car to prevent accidents.
